This painting was inspired by a stunning tree on the Apethorpe Road.
Inspired by the Willowbrook running thru Kings Cliffe.
This painting was inspired by the trees near the Bowthorpe Oak.
The Hills and Holes at Kings Cliffe are a hummocky landscape alongside the Willow Brook. They may have been the result of medieval Fishponds being created or excavations from stone pits.
The Bowthorpe Oak in Manthorpe near Bourne, Lincolnshire is probably England's oldest oak tree with an estimated age of over 1,000 years and a circumference of 12.30 metres. The hollow interior had been fitted with seats and has apparently been used as a dining room for 20 people in the past ! I have created a collection of oil on canvas and graphite on paper based on this wonderous tree.
